It was a decent Monday for Devara (Hindi) as Rs. 4.40 crores came in. On Friday, the film had collected Rs. 7.95 crores, so the drop is less than 50%, which is better than being on the other side of the mid-point.
That said, the situation would have been even better had the collections been even more stable with the drop being in the range of 30%. This would have meant that the collections stayed in Rs. 5.50 crores range and hence even by the close of week, the minimum numbers would have been around Rs. 4-4.50 crores, which would have been quite good. In this case, the numbers may end up going below the Rs. 4 crores mark on Thursday, though absence of any new Hindi release this Friday means Devara (Hindi) will continue to play on.
Also, there is Gandhi Jayanti tomorrow which means collections will regain all over again. Also, even today the collections will be stable and there is a good chance that they may turn out to be better than yesterday since evening and night shows would act like pre-weekend. So far, the film has collected Rs. 33.92 crores and the first week haul would be in the whereabouts of Rs. 45 crores.
